Common problems and precautions in the maintenance of soft sealed gate valves
Daily maintenance and upkeep of soft sealed gate valves
1.Soft sealed gate valves should be stored in a dry and ventilated room,and the two ends of the passage must be blocked.
2.Soft sealed gate valves stored for a long time should be regularly inspected,cleaned of dirt,and coated with rust proof oil on the processing surface.
3.After installation,regular inspections should be carried out,with the main inspection items being:
(1)Wear condition of sealing surface.
(2)Wear of trapezoidal threads on the valve stem and valve stem nut.
(3)Whether the filler is outdated or ineffective,and if it is damaged,it should be replaced in a timely manner.
(4)After the maintenance and assembly of the soft sealed gate valve,a sealing performance test should be conducted.
During operation,various valve components should be complete and intact.The bolts on the flange and bracket are indispensable,and the threads should be intact without any looseness.The fastening nuts on the handwheel should be tightened in a timely manner if any looseness is found to prevent wear on the connection or loss of the handwheel and nameplate.If the handwheel is lost,it is not allowed to use a wrench to replace it,and it should be equipped in a timely manner.The packing gland should not be skewed or have no pre tightening clearance.For soft sealed gate valves in environments prone to contamination by rain,snow,dust,wind and sand,protective covers should be installed on their valve stems.The scale on the soft sealed gate valve should be kept complete,accurate,and clear.The lead seal,cap,pneumatic accessories,etc.of the soft sealed gate valve should be complete and intact.The insulation jacket should have no dents or cracks.
It is not allowed to knock,stand or support heavy objects on the soft sealed gate valve in operation;Especially non-metallic soft seal gate valves and cast iron soft seal gate valves should be prohibited.
