What are the precautions when using a soft sealed gate valve?
If the sealing surface of the soft sealed gate valve is slightly deformed or corroded while the body and parts are intact, the valve cannot be used. Therefore, in use, there should be minimal friction between the valve plate and the sealing surface to avoid damage to the valve body as much as possible. After solving the problem of corrosion or deformation of the sealing surface of the valve seat and valve plate, the valve plate can automatically compensate and press the tight surface, as well as the problem of automatic pressure balance with the soft sealing gate valve. This solves the problem of damage to the sealing surface of the soft sealing material due to friction. Due to the replaceable sealing sleeve of the gate valve, the use of the valve is increased.
During the opening and closing process, the soft sealing material maintains a distance from the valve seat, allowing it to work in an environment without friction or bending pressure. The sealing sleeve isolates the liquid conveyed in the pipeline from the components inside the valve core, preventing corrosion from the liquid and blockage from impurities. The sealing material of this valve is very easy to replace, so its service life is more than 5 times that of a typical gate valve. Reduced losses and saved resources for the company.
When the soft seal gate valve is not in use, the gate should be in a slightly open state, and the valve should be neatly stored in a ventilated and dry warehouse. Stacking and outdoor storage are strictly prohibited. Both ends of the valve should be sealed with cover plates to prevent dust and impurities from entering the inside of the valve. If it needs to be stored for a long time, regular inspections should be carried out. Before installation, carefully check whether the valve's markings and certificate of conformity meet the requirements for use; Only after confirming that there are no errors can installation proceed. Valves are only used for fully open or fully closed purposes during use.
During use, valves should be observed at all times, and any malfunctions should be immediately stopped to identify the cause. The bypass valve installed on the main valve after strength and sealing tests shall undergo strength and sealing tests on the main valve; When the closing part of the main valve is opened, it should also be opened accordingly. When conducting strength tests on cast iron valves, a copper hammer should be used to lightly tap the valve body and valve cover to check for leaks. When conducting tests on valves, except for plug valves where it is specified to allow oil to be applied to the sealing surface, other valves are not allowed to apply oil to the sealing surface for testing. During valve pressure testing, the pressure exerted by the blind plate on the valve should not be too large to avoid deformation and affect the test effect. If cast iron valves are pressed too tightly, they may also be damaged. After the pressure test of the valve is completed, the accumulated water inside the valve should be promptly drained and wiped clean, and the test record should also be kept.
